Don’t use Facebook to find customers

Use Facebook to make friends. Write about your local community and events, and try to post items of interest that go beyond your business.

Don’t overwhelm people

That’s a turn-off. The best times to post are 7 a.m., 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., the peak high-traffic times for Facebook.

Don’t post to add another item

Know your fans. Share stuff that has a reason for sharing and that your fans will enjoy. Avoid posting silliness just to add another item.

Don’t be pushy

Be friendly! People come to your social media page to find perks, but they don’t want sales forced on them.

Don’t be boring

Be exciting! Post the kind of content you’d want to share with your friends. Facebook marketing is more about sharing than selling.
